Modified Bitumen is a multi-ply system, consisting of a base
sheet and a granulated cap sheet.
Optional mid-ply sheets are sometimes used to create a 3-ply
system. These products
come with an adhesive pre-applied for quick and easy installation.
Single-Ply
systems include TPO, PVC and EPDM.
These systems are attached to the roof deck with fasteners
and/or adhesive. TPO and
PVC products carry ENERGY STAR ratings.
Built-Up flat roof systems consist of a base sheet and a cap
sheet. The base sheet is
mechanically attached while a asphalt-based mastic is used to adhere
the cap sheet.
